• Is there a way to get both domains to work, without redirecting to one or the other?

I have the WP instillation on ssl.onezero.no which has a SSL certificate but when i create a site and gives it an other domain the domain isn’t in the certificate, so to get the SSL certificate to work i need the “original” url to work (ssl.onezero.no/mysite/) without getting redirected to the primary domain.

The reason that i need this to work is that i use WP to publish pages on facebook, and then SSL is required. And i want our customers to have the FB plugin on there sites and not on external sites.

  • Seems that I had similar problem (here). I wanted domain with www prefix works separately, without redirecting to non-www domain (but of course both should display the same page, only a matter of URLs).

As plugin’s author replied me, this is beyond his plugin, redirection is obligatory, because that is how WordPress Networks works.

What if they use the original URL in the Facebook app? It should work.

The only problem I see is if you have a direct link to the site in the FB app.

I also have a multisite install to manage FB apps, with an SSL subdomain.

You can also have the FB app use a “proxy” SSL, like the one provided by social server (now is https://fbssl.co/). Or, if you already have the SSL, you can use some kind of URL shortener plugin, like pretty link, in your main site.
