    www.spritesandbites.net

I was trying to fix an error problem regarding page redirects and have accidentally screwed up index.php which resides in the first level of public_html

As you can see, I now have no wordpress and just have some screwy error.

I cannot find my backup. Is my blog well and truly buggered?

    I want to cry. :'(

Your database should be fine, thus your posts are all still there.

    Thanks Miklb.

Do you know how I can restore this index.php ??

What sort of information should be in there? I could perhaps create a new one

I must add, this is not the index.php of my theme, its the index.php that resides in the root wordpress folder

Just upload a new one. You can follow the upgrade directions in the codex to restore your your install, just skip the upgrade.php step at the end.

OMG you are fab it worked, i didn't upload a whole new wordpress but just that single file. Not only that, it fixed my other problem of the redirect error.

Thankyou very much indeed. Any idea how that file could become so corrupted? I even have no idea how the redirects got screwed up.

I went away on holiday for a week, came back, wrote two posts then everything went haywire.
