• Hi! I have not been able to find a plugin that does the following, could you help me out? 🙂

Allow Users to tag posts and “save” them into lists that they can name so that they can create lists of posts to recommend to other people.

I’m using posts for places in a city guide, I’d like users to be able to create lists of places based on a topic. For example: A user-created list of “places with nice architecture” or “places that sell the best coffee” and they would add to that list the posts that they´d think fit in the category, so that other users can see the lists.

    Any advice will be appreciated!
    🙂

  • Hey, I am also looking for something like this. Did you find anything?

We had the same need and coded a plugin. We may release it very soon. Have a look at how it behaves on our Rio Guide:
    http://www.rioloft.com/rio-guide/

The user can add posts to a list, and then:

    – it will be remembered for many days via html5 storage

    – he can download in PDF or Google Docs

    – He can download a dynamic mobile-ready, offline ready web application on the fly.

Please let me know if you want to be my beta testers.

right now the email feature is not active yet, but super trivial to implement.

    Rioloft, thank you very much!

It looks like a good plugin, thanks for the info.
One question, it only works for a single list? We would like our users to share their lists of posts with each other, and to have several lists.

well, it can handle as many lists as you want.
Lists are saved in the user browser.
Then, they get a comma separated list of post IDs if you see what happens when downloading the PDF or generating the offline app (watch the URL and you’ll get it).
It’s cool with an iphone because it will let the user automatically add the post list as an app, and after the first loading you will be able to browse offline too, given that you configured your htaccess properly.

But what you would love, is just to send the list via email, right?

yes, via email would rock 🙂
Also, to simply have a section in the webpage where users can see other users´ lists, that way they could have user generated lists of recommended posts on different topics. can it do that? with some tweaking maybe?

Via Email > we are almost ready to Deploy.

Your other idea can be interesting too. I was thinking something similar. Maybe in the future. It’s rather easy.

    Hi Rioloft!

Can you fix the PDF function? You can use PrintFriendly plugin instead. 🙂
I really need this plugin for my tourist information website. 🙁

Thanks a lot for building this wonderful plugin!!! 😀
