    Using the following code to restrict results is not giving the expected results:
    <input type="hidden" value="3" name="cat" />

    Cat ID 3 is a parent category, and search returns results from a number of the child categories (as expected), but not all of them. I’m not 100% certain, but it seems to be categories with an ID of 91 or higher that don’t get included. However, if I restrict the search to any one of the missing categories by their specific ID, the posts they contain show up again, so they definitely seem to be getting indexed.

    The category ID should not have anything to do with it… Are you using the “Limit searches” option? Try disabling that to see if the results appear.

    Hi Mikko,

    Thanks for the reply. I just tried out your suggestion, but no luck. I still get the same outcome. What makes this so baffling is how it affects some categories and not others. The closest I’ve been able to come to finding any pattern is the ID numbers, but as you confirmed, it didn’t seem like much of an explanation. It’s an oddly consistent inconsistency because even though the results are mixed, it always affects the same categories.

    @mikko,

    Just wanted to let you know the recent updates have resolved this problem.

    In case you enjoy seeing your work in the wild, here’s where we’re using it to make people happy: http://designbasement.org. In addition to sitewide search, each of the subsections restricts search to just their category tree.

    Anyway, really appreciate your work! Thanks for making this very helpful plugin.
