This is my first post and so I will say Hi first of all.

I hope this is a simple issue to resolve. The title says it all really. I have been building a web site and I have obviously changes a setting but I cannot for the life of me remember what setting I changed.

The main menu headings in every page have now disappeared and are only showing when you hover the mouse pointer over them at which point they show up and you can then navigate to the appropriate page.

The links to the appropriate pages are all working.

I cannot exactly remember what I was doing at the time when the menu heading disappeared but I recall I was trying to add a picture to the header and also I was looking at trying to change the colour scheme.

Any thoughts as to how I can have the menu headings always showing.

I am using the layout of 2 side bars and the left sidebar works fine and again the menu headings all navigate to the correct place.

    Many thanks in advane.

  • It’s likely in your CSS code. It sounds like the menu headings may have the same color as the background — so they are invisible until they are hovered over. Can you post a link to the site? If not, try using Firebug to look at the CSS code relevant to those headings.

    Hi WPyogi

Thanks for your reply. The URL is http://www.propertybuyersharlow.co.uk

I will have a look at the code.

I am a total novice and have only been using wordpress for a few days but I think I know where to go.

I think have made some progress

After some trial and error I have found out that in the edit themes stylesheet section, if I edit the letters in the background sections preceded with a # then the colours change but being a novice I am not sure what each set of letters refer to eg #eee.

I am looking for all the instances of the word background and experimenting and I now have been able to change the colour scheme to get the menu buttons to show but I would like it as it was at the start with a dark background and white letters.

I am getting there I think although I have no recollection of what I originally changed

OK I gave up as I got too frustrated with the changes so I made sure all the custom work I had done was backed up and saved and I deleted the theme and reinstalled it.

Thankfully we are back to where I was before It all went wrong!!!!!

I did find a very useful website though giving very helpful details about colours and lots of other tips too http://www.w3schools.com
