It does not matter from which account you create the application. You could even use someone else’s app if you had the details like the APP ID and the APP SECRET.
So just create an app with ANY facebook account, click “Website with Facebook Login”, set the Site URL and copy the app id and secret. 🙂

Yes, I have read this documentation extensively. The problem is that when I click on the “Apps” tab it brings me to my FB admin page. And on this admin page there is not an option to “create a new app.”
Should I just create a personal page for my brand. It seems that it will allow me to “create a new app” when a personal FB account is logged in.
You can create the Facebook app from your personal FB account, as I stated above. Just log into your personal FB account and head over to http://developers.facebook.com/apps to create a new application. 🙂

Same boat here. Screenshots don’t help as they only show the obvious part from the plugin-nothing at all from the FB app page.
When I click on “create new app” from the FB developer page, there’s no place to “Select “Website with Facebook login” and set your Site URL” as the installation guide states.
Did we go to the wrong place on the developer site or did things change there??
I feel like the installation guide is just out of date…
Nothing changed but apparently this is harder than I thought it would be.
On this screen, just fill in ANY app name and omit the namespace field. Leave the hosting checkbox unchecked. Then you’ll be taken to a screen where you can select “Website with Facebook login” and set your Site URL.
I’ll try to make the installation guide more clear when I have the time.

I too am trying to use this plugin for a business facebook page (non-personal). I am able to follow the steps and get my app id and app security info when I am in my personal account but I can not find the same information for the business facebook page. I have done the app developer steps but I can not get access to the create new app function for the business page. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I tried to use the personal app info but it did not accept it with the business facebook page.
