Change header background color

I am using Squared Responsive theme and can’t seem to find the correct code in my style.css to change the header, navigation and footer colors. I have changed what I thought was the correct hex color codes but the header, nav and footer are still grey. I tried support from Icy Pixels, the theme creator but was directed here.
