Whatever is causing this behavior is also affecting the site name link in the header. Here is an example on one of our sites that is using Event Reg:
http://thoughtleadersinbusiness.org
Click the title in the header and you’ll get the empty popup overlay.

Your issue is related to the class that the h1 tag on your site is using for the title link, because it is using <h1 class="inline"><a href="http://thoughtleadersinbusiness.org" title="Thought Leaders in Business">Thought Leaders in Business</a></h1> class=inline is the same class the plugin is using for the popup window is causing your issue. Your theme and the plugins colorbox CSS are using the same name for class but for different purposes.
