  • My css code that controls my header looks like this:

    #sitename {
    color:#ffffff;
    height:90px;
    margin:0 20px 0 305px;
    text-align:left;
    background:url(images/sistine-chapel3.gif) no-repeat; /* Delete this line to remove the animated globe */
    }
    #sitename h1,#sitename h2 {
    font-weight:400;
    margin:0;
    }
    #sitename h1 {
    font-size:2.4em;
    margin:0 20px 0 -285px;
    }
    #sitename h1 a {
    color: #ffffff;
    text-decoration: none;
    letter-spacing: 5px;
    }
    #sitename h2 {
    font-size:1.6em;
    margin:25px 0 0 100px;
    }

    The issue is with IE 6.X

    I visited a friend who uses it, and when I checked my site on his system, http://totalphysiqueonline.com/ looked great accept for the title.

    I have the entire title group slid to the right, with the Top Large Title using a negative variable to slide it over to the left, against the side of the page.

    In my friends browser, the larger title is up top, with the word ‘Online’ between Adam and God (man and God). However, all of the main title, accept the last letter ‘e’ in the word Physique and the word ‘Online’ are visible, so that it reads:

    “e Online”

    “Total Physiqu” is missing, leaving a blank, empty 3.5 inch space/gap between the edge of the page and Adams head.

    The sistine chapel image is positioned properly, with Adam more or less sitting on top of the Spotlight button. The smaller title is right where it should be i.e., the bible verse starts at Adams knee, beneath God’s oustretched arm, and proceeds out beneath and beyond God, to the right.

    In other words, the two text titles are staggered.

    It works in all the latest versions of Safari, Opera, Firefox, Camino and Mozilla. But not in IE. Any idea what is causing this? Or is this just something IE users will have to live with.

  • For al those people out here who are designing themes, or just customise there Blog, I have this very interesting link.
    We all know the problem when we use IE 6 or 7, in normal conditions we can not check the new creation in a version before IE 6 or IE 7, because the current version we use is overwriting the older version.

    Me personally, wants to check how my Blog looks in older versions of the M$ Explorer, just like I do that wit FF , Opera, and so on. After some search on the NET, I found a handy program. Perhaps some of you already know the existing of it, but for those who don’t here it is

    Multiple versions of IE is installing if you want from 3.0 to version 6

    Red Star. thank you. But this does not address my topic. The issue remains. What can I do to make certain that my Site Title displays in IE. Moreover, I have an Apple, so the above link does nothing for those of us with Apples 🙂

    It was a mistake that I placed it over here. 🙁

    I don’t think it was a mistake at all. I am sorry to have coveyed that message.

    What I should have said was, “thanks, this is great, but do you also have a suggestion for my CSS that would eliminate the wonkiness in IE?”

    That is all I meant. Frankly I am glad I saw your post. That link is helpful to tons of web developers because so many of them are running Windows. 🙂
