• Hi there, I have an existing website/blog using wordpress set-up, but the code is far too messy due to a friend completely changing and modifying too many areas and codes.

I have now set up a clean wordpress with a new template.

What I am hoping to do though, is add all the old pages and posts to the new wordpress through ftp somehow. Is this possible? It would save me manually adding several hundreds of pages and posts etc.

Thanks in advance for any help and apologies if this is answered elsewhere but I couldnt find it.

    Matt

No, because there is no content in your files.
All your content is stored in the database. Therefore, you’ll need to back up your database and then import it into the new blog… although the different versions will cause some headache.
