Hi maccatalkssport,
I definitely see what you mean. Sometimes it takes forever to load, other times it loads just fine.
My first suggestion to you would be to try deactivating all active plugins and see if that speeds things up on a consistent basis. If it does, you should reactivate your plugins one at a time, all the time refreshing the site to try and deduce which plugin may be causing the problem.
Other the other hand, you said you’d just switched to a new theme which is also very possibly the culprit.
Hi Drew,
Thanks for the feedback, I have already deleted a few unused plugins and media photos. Did seem to help a little bit.
Next time I am able to get into the dashboard, I will go through the existing plugins and see what happens.
Problem I have is that for me to check the site and check the plugins etc.. I need to get into the dashboard, which is hard when the website won’t load at various times during the day.
Thanks for the advice, will check it out and see if it helps.
Also a database repair can fix your problem.
I had the same problem because of the delay between my website and the database.
You can easily try to make a backup of your database at another machine and to run a copy of your website there 😉
Sorry to be a pain, clud7.
But how exactly do I do that? as I said before I am new to all this stuff.
Hi maccatalkssport,
If you have FTP access to your site, you can always navigate to wp-content and rename your plugins directory temporarily to do a sort of “hard reset”. You can find out more info in the FAQ Troubleshooting Codex article. Best of luck!
