Some Images Keep Disappearing

    Hello everyone

    My website seems to have developed a recent problem.

    Some of my user post images that used to display correctly in the replies to blog posts now only display between [IMG] tags.

    Here’s an example…just scroll down the page a little way.

    I have one main post plugin working on the site called symposium which has been working fine with no issues.
    However this situation only started since I changed themes over to Serpent from themeforest.

    I know that symposium and serpent both use different image directories.

    To date I have had to go through each post putting back in the image search functions but I am sure that there must be an easier remedy to this.

    I did also notice that some posts for example in my august 2012 folder all contained no follow links in the image text. I have no idea how this happened but I have since edited these.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    BTW I have tried a rebuild thumbnails plugin but no joy.

    I’m sorry but as you are using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s vendors.

    Ok I will give it a try but I’ve spent two days on this so far and pulling my hair out.

    The weird thing is that when I view comments in in the dashboard I can see all of the images but when I view the comments on the main site page I can only see a link.

    I think it’s a plugin problem rather than a theme one.

    Just for info if others face a similar issue.

    I’m using easy comment uploads plugin. When active I can see images but only in the comments tab of the dashboard.

    When I deactivate the plugin I cannot see the images in comments section.

    Still doesn’t change fact they are not visible on my site pages but at least I’m getting closer.

    I recently disabled my Easy Comment Uploads plugin, because a security problem in the plugin was allowing hackers to upload evil files to my server. When the plugin was disabled, I had the same problem – all the images previously uploaded are found within [img] tags, and it looks like I’ll need to go back through thousands of comments and replace them myself with <img> tags, which WordPress can read.

    I don’t suppose you figured out a good fix for this? I really don’t want to fix all those images by hand. ;(
