• I would really like to eliminate other social sharer plug ins that I have on my site, but I wan to be able to use the FBXML button. If nothing else it allows people to enter in a comment when they share it on their wall.

    I’d also like to be able to use the fb send button, which FB is suggesting people add to their sites.

    Any chance of adding either of these?

    Thanks.

  • Yes I’d like to see this too. I particularly want to see the like button that includes the ability to share a comment.

    The sharing button currently included in Jetpack (if you use the Icon + Text option) allows you to enter a comment when you click on the Facebook share button.

    We may update in the future, though an update is not on our roadmap for any upcoming releases.

    @tim,

    Thanks for the email. Why are you guys still using the share button? Facebook is getting rid of the share button and using the like button.

    How come if you use the icon + text option it changes from the like button to the share button?

    Can you make this use the official facebook like button?

    The “Official Button” option will use the code directly from Facebook. We have the icon + text option as a fallback option so that we can control the display of the button.

    As I said, we may look at updating this in a future update. Thanks for the feedback.

    I’d like to echo what rick4him said.
