A friend I’m trying to help has his domains and hosting at register.com (he purchased UNIX hosting, so I don’t have access to cPanel). He installed WordPress under <exampledomainnamehere.com/wordpress1> when it should just be at the root domain <exampledomainnamehere.com>. Luckily, all he’s done is installed WordPress and a theme, but no content yet. I’ve tried to install WordPress at the root domain, but apparently his hosting only allows for one WordPress database. Is there a way to safely just move everything through FTP to the root domain using the existing database and have the site still work?
