Two errors confirm your suspicions, “An image won’t load”;

Ooh, thanks! What does it mean and how can I fix it?
Copy the images folder from from wp-content/themes/twentyeleven to your child theme’s folder.

Or if not Esmi’s approach, try changing line 2132 style.css of your Child Theme,
from this
.commentlist > li.bypostauthor:before {
content: url(images/comment-arrow-bypostauthor.png);
}
to this;
.commentlist > li.bypostauthor:before {
content: url(../images/comment-arrow-bypostauthor.png);
}
