Comments have been broken for me for the last few weeks. I just upgraded to Jetpack 1.8.2 and they are still not working. This problems seems to have happened when I upgraded to WordPress 3.4.2. I’m at wits end and have no idea how to fix it. Without comments working my site is, for my purposes, worthless as tits on a boar.

    I’m having this trouble too.

I’ve tried posting both with and without using Twitter, Facebook etc.

In every case, I get this message:

“You may have disabled javascript. Please enable javascript before leaving a comment on this site.”

I have triple-checked and I do have javascript enabled.

The same here. I have latest Jetpack and i dont have any comments in comments list in admin area, i get on e-mail notifications about comments but with all fields empty and when i try to add comment using my wordpress account its saying “submitting comment”, page reloads, and no comment is added. Please help.

Sorry, my issue was with broken table. I repaired it and works.

I always had problems with jetpack comments so I switched to DISQUS comments instead. I LOVE it!

My jetpack subscription signup doesn’t work, don’t know if subscribers are getting notifications of new post, Admin gets no notification of subscribers, is there a way around this unfortunate obstacle, this is costing a lot of people, is there a way you could help ?

I’m having the same problem. For some reason those individuals who previously signed up to receive email notification of new blog posts to my blog aren’t received said notifications. This started all of a sudden a few weeks ago.

Has there been any indication as to what might be causing the issue?

I should note that I also attempted to add a secondary email address of mine to receive email notification of new blog posts, but I have yet to receive an email to that email address asking me to confirm my subscription.

Email notification issues should be solved in 1.8.3.

As far as comments themselves not working, could you provide more information, ikiwago?

Hi – I’m suddenly having problems with comments on all pages and posts of my blog – I think since the Jetpack update. I am not getting comments anywhere – not even spam! Some pages are working; some are randomly not. All have the “comment” box checked. I deactivated Jetpack; tried Disqus; now I don’t even get notifications for test comments I make (logged out of my account), and they don’t go to the moderator queue either – they just get posted. Now I’m having trouble even deleting the test posts (which I have to do directly on the page, because they don’t show up anywhere in Dashboard).

Any advice? Thanks in advance –

@jrlorson This issue doesn’t seem to be related to Jetpack, since you experienced similar issues with Disqus.

Could you deactivate all plugins and try again?

Hi – thanks for your reply. This happened before Disqus; in fact, I installed the Disqus plugin just to try to fix / override the problem. I never really used Disqus. I uninstalled Disqus when I found it didn’t help. I deactivated all my plugins; the problem persists.
Thanks very much for any help –

If the problem is not related to any plugins, you might want to try switching to another theme like Twenty Eleven.

You will want to make sure you’re running the latest version of WordPress, and you could also check if you experience any of the common WordPress errors listed here:

Did anyone ever answer this question?
I have figured out that it is in fact Jetpack causing the problem,
because it comments work again when I disable it.

I did double check my PHP and seems up to date and my theme is twentyEleven, but I also tired twentyTwelve just in case, so it’s not my theme.
