it would not let me access the wpcontent/themes folder to revert to the default theme.
Why not? What happened? Have you spoken to your hosts about this?
I can log onto the server through my ftp software, but when i double click on wpcontent/themes folder I get:
“Critical error. Could not connect to server.”
I have contacted Bluehost but no response yet. I thought the error might lie elsewhere as I was editing the stylesheets when this happened (though what I was doing should not have had this effect).
Thanks.
That’s definitely something that Bluehost need to investigate. I’ve tagged this topic accordingly in the hope that Bluehost support might respond here.
Have you checked the permissions of the wp-content/themes folders? If you have wrong permissions and try to access them with Filezilla you will get a Critical Error.
Hello
I am quite lost. My mother asked me to help her with the blog for her hotel but I cannot access it. Someone else set it up and I have no clue what happened or how to fix it. I wanted to just start over but I don’t know when the domain expires so I can re-buy it. I have no way of contacting the person who opened the blog in the first place and don’t know how to erase, repair, change or visit. This is the link I try to use to access it
http://www.zanduhotel.com/wp-admin/
and when I try to view it it just shows a blank page. No message, nothing. The person who started the blog got the domains hotelzandu and zanduhotel and they redirect. I honestly have no idea what happened or what do to to fix it. Please help.
Thank you.

Hi Angela,
Looks like you are off to a tough start.
I went to “whois.com” to find out where it is registered. It looks like the URL is registered with Godaddy and it was hosted with bluehost. I would start with Godaddy.com. They have a process for reclaiming your URL. Here is an article on their help desk forum (http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/4043/submitting-a-change-of-accountemail-update-form) or you can just call them (they are pretty responsive).
Once you have the URL ownership resolved you can contact Bluehost to see how they can help with the site.
Just a FYI, In the future you should start a new thread and not jump on an old one. You get a quick response that way.

Thank you so much, I will contact Godaddy right away. I thought my problem was similar to the one described by mhconant so that’s why I posted on this thread, but thanks for the tip.
I’ll let you know how it goes!
