Everything is alright with my blog, I finally figured out how to change the width of the entries, but the
problem I'm having is that there's this empty space on the right creating an unwanted scroll bar at the
bottom. What can I do to get rid of it?
    http://authentic-diva.com/debra.php <<-- there's the page it's at.
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, your JavaScript crashes in two places.
Btw, that scrollbar is there because the body is taller than the browser viewing size. Yes, I know it looks fine in your 1280x1024 resolution and it doesn't *appear* to need a scrollbar, but trust us. Really. Resizing your browser to larger than what you normally view it at and you'll find the scrollbar *does* disappear.
And, take it from us web veterans, it is annoying to most people to have a constant text in the status bar, especially if it's scrolling. One last thing: readability. Nearly all of the text is unreadable because it's so small.

If you make it absolutely plain that you have rejected the advice given you reduce the incentive for other people to follow. The blog is a readability acccessibility, and useability disaster area. Sorry.

    Ouch.
So the reason the horizontal scrollbar is there is because the body is taller than the browser viewing size?? For some reason that doesnt make sense to me. The text size looks fine to me.

I was told by a friend that at a larger screen resolution the scroll bar doesn't appear, but as I do use a 800x600 resolution it's there, which nags me. But what do you mean by the "body"? And how does the js crash? I've been to other sites with it and it didn't crash mine.

Who said I rejected the advice given? As someone else has stated, the text does look fine to me, otherwise I wouldn't leave it as it is, but when did this become "review the site that needs help"? All I asked was a simple question, but that turns into you did this wrong, and this wrong and this wrong. Maybe some people find some of those things annoying, but bottom line is it is my website, I enjoy how it looks, I put certain things on it, not to crash browsers (as it is the few of you here are the only known complaints I've even had about it). So why not just stick to helping people rather than complain to them about what they've done wrong in your eyes.

Yes but the point is the site is not even accessible enough for people either to want or to be able to diagnose the error. We would if we could.

All she wanted was a little help and it sounds to me like she didnt get that at all. Like she said, she came here for some help with scrollbars, not to get bombarded with things she didnt ask for. And that body/size thing makes absolutely no sense to me, maybe its just me; or maybe its you. (mark) "Nearly all of the text is unreadable because it's so small." I'm not sure how that text is considered 'so small.' Its either you or your computer, because it looks fine to a number of other people. Or maybe you're just not familiar with the way things are done in a certain other area of weblogs and personal sites. Just give the girl some help.

If it's not accessible enough then how can I have so many hits/visitors w/o complaints?

At 1024*768 I see only a horizontal scrollbar in the diary entry screen.
If at 800*600 there is such a scrollbar in the browser window, then it's because the site is too wide for the browser - there just isn't another cause.
I can see only one place where a width of 799 pixels is defined.
This is going to sound like a criticism but it isn't - the reason it's hard to track down what might be causing this is, in part, due to the fact there is such a lot going on there. The basic html errors aside, there are a lot of elements there with width settings, and all it needs is one of those to be out by a few pixels and bingo - scrollbar.
My suggestion would be to take all the code and structure it properly. Not to take anything out, but just to make it clearer what is where.
That will make tracking this error down that much easier.
It's quite a bit of work, but it's basically just a whole lot of cutting and pasting.
Honestly, if there was a simple fix, it would be given.

Well, other than there's no background color set on the page, it looks OK to me, I don't get the horiz scrollbar, so I don't know what that's all about.
Mark - this is all about the horizontal scrollbar, not the vertical.
babyqrl84 - don't wast your time with anon... which ever anon that was.
-- after taking a second look, I think I see the scroll bar probl now.... it's in the itty-bitty text area.... hmmm.... I'd suggest taking a look at the CSS for that part of the page and see if there is some padding or a margin on it that's causing it to be wider than it needs to be.

ok, the thing is I have my blog in an iframe, and I went through my wp-layout.css numerous times checking it and messing with it and no such luck, it's just weird that there's like an empty bit of space on the right side of it, that's what's causing the unwanted scroll bar in the 800x600 resolution, or so I think, but I can't figure out how to make it go away, but the 799 width you're talking about podz, is the div layer for the top image, then there's the other 4 div layers, and finally that iframe with the blog, usually i don't put my blog in a iframe with a limited height which is why I've never had this problem before, but I do thank you podz and TechGnome for giving me much better support/help with this.
