[Plugin: Contact Form 7] Cannot edit my form

I have created a new contact form and I am trying to edit it but it seems as if no matter what I do, the form doesn’t change and remains as the same stock form with the generic Name, e-mail, website, and comments fields. even if I delete everything in the “Form” box in the editor and save it, nothing changes. As a side note, I am putting the shortcode into a text widget in order to get the form to appear. Is there some step that I am missing? Thanks.
