• Hi,

I’m building a new, fairly complex theme from scratch. I’ve created themes before but this will be more complex than anything else i’ve ever done.

Take a look at this theme:
    http://livedemo00.template-help.com/wordpress_35782/

On the front page, there are a few different “segments” of content. First, the slideshow, then there’s a Welcome message. Below that there are four different boxes containing images and text, and then there’s that “Why us?” section.

I know about page templates and that you can use them to structure different pages differently, but what i don’t know is how to edit so many different segments of content from the wordpress admin page. I could enter the text in the template itself and make it static, but that destroys the whole point of a CMS. The goal is to make the theme very easy to use, so no shortcodes or code-editing should be used to configure the content of the pages. So, i basically need to add some sort of way to edit multiple different parts of a page through the admin page.

My first idea was to use meta-boxes, but i’m not sure if you can bind certain boxes to certain pages. I need that because the content varies between different pages (obviously). I’m also not sure that is the best way to go about it. I’ve also looked at some plugins for meta-boxes, but none of them allows you to bind certain boxes to certain pages.

    So, TL;DR:
I need to be able to edit multiple different content-segments on a page from the admin panel. What is the best way to go about this?

Any suggestions or ideas are very appreciated!
