• Hello,

My client told me their site is all messed up in Internet Explorer. http://www.icclear.net

I checked it in my Internet Explorer 9 and not only is the site messed up the WordPress back office is also all over the place.

I have the same problem on another site http://www.portuguesclaro.pt

All the suggestions of viewing in compatibility mode don’t work either.
I tried some other suggestions of using code to tell the browser to automatically switch to IE7 too but that didn’t work either.

I’ve got the latest version WordPress 3.4.2

Really appreciate some advice on this. Getting nervous because seems most other people only have problems from 4 months ago.

  • Since you are using the same theme on both sites this is a css bug in the purevision theme.

Purevision is a commercial theme so you should contact the theme author about this issue.

But what surprises me much more is the linkfarm you got hidden in your html head. Have you downloaded the theme from themeforest?
I think you got a hacked premium theme with encoded base64 parts.
Or have you added those links to your customers sites??

    Thanks for the response.

I downloaded the theme from themeforest.
The updates were meant to deal with any vulnerability.
The two sites have different versions though.

Thanks for the tip – It does look like it has been hacked.
Had a definite hack on another site (different theme same host) a few weeks ago.

What does hacked with encoded base64 parts mean?
If I delete the links should the issue resolve?

There are many many possibilities why and how these links were injected.
A good read about wp security:

and definitely run this on your theme:

I would be interested in the results of TAC
