• OK first off i’ve been an avid joomla user for years but someone mentioned I should give wordpress a try so that’s what i’m doing.

I am trying to build a site with wordpress that will do the following but i’m not having any luck and I’m looking for some suggestions…

The site is an ecommerce site that sells physical products so the shopping cart should be able to support shipping plugins from USPS, fedex etc.

OK – What i am having trouble accomplishing is having the homepage of the site simply show one product on it with the options, price and buy now button. And then I will have some “widgets” on the side and below.

The concept of the site is like a flash sale. So there is one product available for a certain amount of time (24hrs) and then when the time is up a different product will be shown.

Below the product I will have some info, facebook comments area, share buttons and so on.

To me this should be very easy to accomplish but haven;t found anything that will add the product via a shortcode or whatever to an article or post.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

It depends. WP doesn’t include commerce natively, so there’s no standard way to implement this – it’ll vary by plugin.

Generally speaking, I would say to explore the plugin’s files for the PHP that displays the product page, then copy that loop to the homepage.
