   I use head-meta-desc, it's simple but effective. meta title is the same as the post title and description is a substr of the post.

   I was coming to ask the same question.
   I found the list of available plugins for creating meta tags.
   But it was just alphabetized.
   I would have like to seen how many people use the different ones.
   I want uniqueness for each post not a global setting.
   Thanks in advance.

   You can check the add-meta-tags plugin. Actually, I updated this plugin today and added the features some users had requested. I hope it covers your needs.
