Home page fails to load

    Hello

    I’m using WordPress to power my website but Elegant Themes for the design theme.

    The theme is called “Flexible” and the ‘Home’ page will not load. Instead a blank page appears with the message :
    Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Query::is_main_query() in /homepages/26/d393316612/htdocs/app393316625/wp-content/themes/Flexible/functions.php on line 175

    The other pages work fine, only when I click on ‘Home’ or try to load the website in the address bar (added-insight.co.uk) that it comes up with the failed message.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    In fact, I’ve just tried to update my version of WordPress to the latest version and was given the message:

    Warning: copy(/homepages/26/d393316612/htdocs/app393316625/wp-admin/includes/update-core.php) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /homepages/26/d393316612/htdocs/app393316625/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 200

    Is there a connection between these two problems I’m experiencing?

    Hi James,

    We have been working quite a lot with Elegant Theme.

    What have you done with the site?
    What did you install? Which version of WP do you use?

    I’m using WP version 3.1 at the moment.
    I installed Flexible 1.3 by Elegant Themes.

    Not sure what you mean when you say ‘what have you done with the site’…

    With both the error messages I’m getting they have the same bit in them:
    ‘/homepages/26/d393316612/htdocs/app393316625/’
    I’m wondering if this is the problem?
