Ok, further detail.
After uninstalling it, the link to the media library sends me to wp-admin/upload.php as it’s supposed to. The only difference is, rather than showing me the image on the left, it’s a glossed default image holder. View & Edit send me to:
wp-admin/post.php?post=20&action=edit
To edit the post rather than the media.
The other columns are as they should be, “Attach To” and the date.
Where are the options stored in the database, and/or what values are altered? (so I can change them manually via phpmyadmin if need be)
And/or what files/functions/line numbers edits the media library page – upload.php where the errors are?
If you can’t fix it asap, I’d like to be able to look into it, as it’s rather inconvenient.
Thanks!
Wow – that’s troubling. The Media Library Assistant plugin does not make ANY changes to the standard “Library” submenu, and it does not in any way alter the WordPress upload.php source (or any other WordPress source). The “wp_update_post” function is used by the Edit actions, but that’s about it.
The plugin adds a few options of its own to the “wp_options” table; it does not alter any other options. Look for options beginning with “mla_”, such as “mla_current_version”, “mla_default_order”, “mla_default_orderby” and “mla_taxonomy_support”.
I’ve never seen problems like this and I can’t reproduce them. If you tell me what other plugins you are using I can try installing them and see if there’s some interaction. If there’s any way to get temporary access to the admin portion of your site I could look at it there. Let me know what else I can do to help!
Thanks for your prompt reply!
I had to get moving, so I just grabbed a backed up version of the database and ran from there. I don’t have time to go back and replicate it right now, but given the gravity of the issue, I’ll try to get back to it soon.
That info should give me enough to find the issue when I can get back to it. Thanks!
I’m very glad that you had a backup and were able to recover without too much disruption, and I’m sorry it was necessary. I’d be very interested in anything you find when you have time to get back to it. Thanks for the update.
In your first post you mentioned that “I decided it didn’t fit my needs…” If there’s something specific you were looking for it would be good feedback for me and my future releases.
I am going to mark this issue resolved for now, simply because I cannot reproduce it and haven’t heard anything further from you. I am happy to revisit this issue if you have new information for me. Thanks again for your interest and your comments.
Ya, sorry I never got back to you on that. It was probably an esoteric conflict or a mistake on my part. Thanks though.
You’re welcome. Let me know if you give the plugin another try.
