Hey I am literally going crazy over this issue, before I never had any problems with my thumbnails on facebook because I have 2 plugins to help, which is “Video Thumbnails” and “Add Facebook Share Thumbnail + Meta”. But since yesterday all of the sudden my thumbails have not been showing on facebook, even though the featured image is set and I refreshed facebook’s cache, I even changed the url just incase facebooks cache wasnt refreshed, but still no luck. This is driving me crazy, does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Facebook updates the API and disables the use of old code often – review the latest with Facebook Documentation.

Sorry I’m kind of a beginner when it comes to this and very confused, by reviewing the Facebook documentation if the API was updated, would that mean I would have to make a change in the meta tag? Or heading code of my theme, I just thought the plugin would automatically do that.

    Your plugin:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/add-facebook-share-thumbnail-meta/

has not been updated since 2011-02-24 or about 18 months ago. That is quite often problematic. Find an up to date and well supported plugin that is very popular listed here at .org or use the Facebook documentation to include in header.php the proper tags (which is all the plugin does)

Thank you, you are right, I downloaded a new plugin and it works even better than my previous one, thank you for your help!

Glad to help. Please mark as resolved if so and please detail the steps taken to fix, ie, what plugin to use, anything else?

    Nope nothing else.
I deactivated and deleted my previous plugin Add Facebook Share thumbnail + meta
I then downloaded another plugin, “Facebook and Digg Thumbnail generator
“, which worked even better because now you can actually press play on a video instead of the video just being an image.
