Add a Text Widget. Edit it.
Add: <img src="http://whereyourimageis.jpg" width="the desired size in pixels" height="the desired size in pixel">
. Now you have the image in the sidebar.
Note that http://whereyourimageis.jpg should be the path to your actual image, like: if you want to add the picture of the day from Wikimedia Commons to your sidebar, you will use this path: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2b/ST_vs_LOU_-_21.jpg/600px-ST_vs_LOU_-_21.jpg
Use it like this <img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2b/ST_vs_LOU_-_21.jpg/600px-ST_vs_LOU_-_21.jpg" width="the desired size in pixels" height="the desired size in pixel">
The width and height should contain numeric values, like width="200px" height="200px"
Thank you thank you! That makes sense to me now!
