    Hi!

    I am using The Mornign After theme on my WP site (volaru.by) but I have some problems with inserting galleries: I want to use a basic shortcode [gallery] but when I do the gallery is different from what I want it to be: there is a kind of grey background and apart from it, when I open the gallery it doesn’t open as a slideshow with arrows (as I used to have at WP.com).

    I installed NEXTGen plugin – but it doesn’t look like I want it to.

    I would like it to be as it is at wp.com (a carousel). MAybe I need to change sth in the theme code?

    You can change various things (like the grey background) using CSS. But so far as basic functionality, you’ll need to find a theme or plug-in that is what you want. Themes and functionalities are not always identical between wp.com and wp.org.

    I understand that The Morning After is a commercial theme. You should try visiting the commercial help forums.
