[resolved] Words turned into Symbols (and I am not Prince) (14 posts)

    Those reading my blog via IE see the first two posts and then see only symbols after that. The last thing that I did was add a stat counter to the right side bar, but I checked IE after that and it was working fine. Now, after the weekend, Prince has invaded my blog. Any ideas?!

    Do you have a link to the blog in question?

    Under Options -> Reading, what is your encoding type?

    (love your title - I chuckled!)

    Don't copy from MS Word, especially not into the wysiwyg monster!

    Well that stinks. Is there any way to correct all the posts that have been copied from Word (which is most of them) if that is the problem?

    Also, any advice on what to use instead. I really don't like the basic software WP offers for writing.

    If you must write in Word > copy the text to a plain text editor first (like Notepad) to get rid of all the crap Word adds to the text, and from there into WP.
    Others might have additional suggestions...

    So, to fix my Princish problem, do I need to go back and do this for all my posts...? It seems, however, that even the comments sections and the blog's own text are affected as well. I don't imagine that Word did all of that....?

    OK, here is another question for you: Did you change the encoding recently? Was there a different encoding before the last two posts?

    Scrap it :)
    Go to your post Mypscae vs. whatever...
    Edit the last line, you have this:
    <span style="font-family: Wingdings" />

    Delete it!!!
