I'm trying to set up the blog by email function but am stuck. When I try to run wp-mail.php I get a page cannot be displayed error. I've tried reuploading the file, but that's about it.

I'm sure my email address and the settings in options->writing are set up correctly. I'm also 99% positive my email address is not using SSL (when I access over the web no certificate indications or https show). The email is sitting in the inbox, it's just waiting to be picked up by wordpress.

I've installed the wp-cron and its mail plugin as well - the emails I receive from it give me this error: Ooops POP3 connect: Error []

I'm sure the two are related. I've searched and tried a few things, but haven't gotten any good leads. Could someone suggest a solution or at least something else I should check out? I'm sort of in the dark on this one.

    Thanks a bunch.

I’m trying to blog by email, and have gotten the emails to be posted by Wordpress (am using view-in-browser method to trigger WordPress to read the email box.) However, the messages are posted to the blog with a couple of lines of email code at the start and end of them.

What is worse, I cannot get a picture attachment to be posted-- the image is reading in as code and not as a picture. (It is a normal small .jpg file.)

I have tried mailing the post from 4 different email applications with no success. How can I fix these problems?

FYI, I am using the newest WP v. 2.1.2
