  • Use another theme. I’m sorry but your chosen theme is not released under GPL. Non GPL products are not welcome in the WordPress community. Official WordPress policy states that all plugins and themes that are publicly released are required to adhere to http://wordpress.org/about/gpl/

Any support requests for non-GPL products are usually ignored, in the interests of supporting the community and its freedoms.

Third theme relates issue this morning… I must be gravitating towards these topics today… *wishes for more coffee*

Lose that theme, the provider of that theme basically booby trapped it and is trying to help themselves at your expense.

Quoting someone else (it’s a good reply):

Or more simply put: you’re hurting yourself when you use that theme and should avoid themes like that as if it were a bad infection. GPL’ed code is your friend and should be used instead.

Try one of these themes instead.

The tag filter is pretty neat too.

Here’s an article that Chip Bennett wrote regarding the dangers of downloading themes from untrusted sources such as where you got that theme.

Thanks for your reply, but it is so sad, please reply that if i switch now from this theme to other how it will affect my settings and layout, what kind of rework I have to do again, and I will be more happy if you can suggest some magazine style theme alike this.

I am noob, just started wordpress so consider it …

All we can suggest that you choose a suitable theme from http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/

Obviously, your layout is going to be changed but your plugin settings should remain untouched. It really isn’t worth hanging onto such a bad – potentially spammy – theme when there are better, high quality free themes also available.

Thanks esmi and Jan Dembowski for your support.

So is there any way to check whether any particular theme is released under GPL ?

Start with the themes hosted on WordPress.ORG, they’re all GPL.
