[Plugin: Add Local Avatar] Subscribers get blank lightbox after successfully uploading avatar

I have a dummy subscriber account and through that the lightbox comes up and I am successfully able to add and crop a local image as my avatar. But then when I click update, the lightbox goes blank. If I know to X out the lightbox, I think the avatar is correctly updated. But I know from my admin account that this is not supposed to happen – the lightbox is supposed to reload the user’s avatar options inside the lightbox and let them close it out or keep editing. Anyone know how I could fix this?

I am using Advanced Access Manager and Adminimize to customize user capabilities, but given that the subscriber can successfully upload, edit, and update the avatar, and it’s just this one lightbox reloading situation that they can’t do, I haven’t been able to find anything in either of these plugins that could possibly be restricting this very specific thing from them.
