Hi there, thanks a bunch for this plugin, pretty awesome. One thing that’s mildly annoying is there’s no good way of getting my users to switch over to using 2 step authentication other than flat out bugging them about it until it’s setup. Is there any chance I could ask you to have the option for sites administrators to turn on some sort of nagging screen or message that appears at the top of every window for users who haven’t paired up with their Google auth? Thanks!

Actually what else would be great is if it’s activated by default for all users, but a code isn’t generated until the user presses a button. If the user is in an activated state but doesn’t have a code generated, the user should be able to login with just a user/pass but can only access a page that helps them to setup Google Auth. Once the code is generated, the screen goes away and the user should be able to login without this forced setup screen.

At this point only administrators can enable/disable Google Auth, because I’m sure I have a small number of users who simply don’t have a smart phone that supports Google Authenticator yet and I’ll have to make an exception for them to just use a strong password.

    Make sense? Thanks!

    Hi Rubin110

I don’t agree on your idea, if such a feature was possible, the next feature request in this support area would be for a way to avoid it 🙂

Educating/informing your users is a much better way of getting them to use two factor authentication, then they’ll love you for installing the plugin, instead of hating you for bugging them 🙂

Stories like the one about the Mat Honan hack seems to be pretty effective when it comes to explaining the importance of security,
to many people probably much more effective than fancy calculations demonstrating their password strength etc.
