[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery geo] Overlay conflict with fancybox plugin

Hi again,

I got bitten by another bug, a minor one.

I need some fancybox plugin for NextGEN gallery, and for this I use the easy fancybox plugin.

For it not to conflict with the fancybox included in your plugin, I’m using slimbox to display galleries on the worldmap: it works fine.

There is however a small glitch: if I activate overlays in easy fancybox, the overlay gets on top of any images of the site, getting them grey, except on the worldmap. Click on any picture here for an example:

I reported the problem on easy fancybox’s forum, and this plugin’s dev (RavanH) pointed a conflict on stylesheets from his and your fancybox. Link here:

As I said, it’s a minor problem, as I can disable overlays for pictures not on the worldmap.

Hi all, as far as I can see, even though kanka chose Slimbox for NextGEN Gallery geo, still the fancybox stylesheet http://ailleurs.kanka.ch/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery-geo/js/fancybox/jquery.fancybox.css?v=2.0.6 gets included. And it is there that the problem arises due to a different z-index for the overlay div.

Would it be possible to not include that stylesheet when Slimbox is used? If so, the conflict would be solved 🙂

Yes, thats right. I have thougtht about this solution,too. There is one reason, why I include both css files: the .css files are included in the header. There would be one additional SQL request on each page, only to check which lightbox have been chosen- not really smart.

There must be a better solution..
May be its better not to integrate a lightbox.

If you want to “solve” the problem, you can simply delete the .css file.

Deleting the css worked, thanks for the suggestion – though maybe not an elegant solution, it solves my problem.

Edit: just a precision: it is this file that needs to be deleted/renamed:
wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery-geo/js/fancybox/jquery.fancybox.css

Great! I can’t see an update of the plugin in my control panel though, will you publish the change in a later revision?

Yes, this bugfix will be part of the next update.
