   How do I get an api key for a non-wordpress.com (name.wordpress.com) blog? I see where it says to register for one, which I did. Got an email with a password, no api key. Logged in to admin in my blog, no api key in the My Account section either.

   Go here: http://wordpress.com/signup/

   Signup. (you don't have to signup for a blog, note there are two options at the bottom of the signup page). THAT's where you'll find the key.

   I did the signup at http://wordpress.com/signup/ , chose the username only option, got the email, logged back in. Still do not see the key in blog or after I log in. Where am I missing it? Thanks...

   Got the api key...there were a few more steps than just signing up. This is not very clear in any of the documentation. You don't see the key until after you change your password from the WP supplied password.
