Double check that your theme supports widgets. Look in the functions.php file for your theme and see if it has a call to “register_sidebar” or something similar to that in there.
If it does not, then your theme does not support widgets. You can look for an updated theme or you can modify the theme for widget support yourself.
If you are certain that the current active theme has widget support, and the widget plugin is activated, then the presentation tab should have the sidebar widgets item listed.
Thanks for your post.
As I explained above I uploaded the functions.php to both the Default and Classic themes. I also uploaded the Ananconda theme which does support it.
I just double checked them and both have that statement.I am baffled.
“Both” have that statement? You mentioned three themes: Default, Classic, and Ananconda. Did you check all three? Which theme are you actually using?
You really only need to check that the theme you’re using supports it. The other themes don’t matter.
Yes I know. I mispoke. All 3 have it. And I have tried it with all three themes.
Well it showed up. I don’t know how and I don’t know why but it is there.
I am having the same problem but my widgets tab used to be there but isn’t now. It seemed to disappear when I updated some plugins and I can’t get it back.
I’m using 2.0.4 and my theme IS widget ready. I can’t figure out what is going on.
