Trackback_rdf not necessary?

    I’m trying to get trackbacks to work in my homemade theme, and it seems that many of the themes I borrow snippets of code from do not use template tag <?php trackback_rdf(); ?> at all. So is it not really necessary to use it to get trackbacks working?

    It’s considered useful for trackback “autodiscovery” — but no, it’s not a necessary component for using trackbacks.
