• I have just installed Flare and it looks great! I’m having two problems:

    1. The Spanish version of the FB Like button is wider than the English one. It needs 116-120px. This problem affects many Facebook like plugins, but it’s very easy to solve 🙂

    2. This one could be theme-releated. If I enable the top/bottom icons, the counts drop to zero. Also, because of the way my theme works (it’s a very popular paid theme called Striking), linebreaks in the plugin are parsed and every icon is enclosed in a <p> tag. Not sure how this could be solved, I’ll also get in touch with them about it.

  • Hi Stormy…sorry to hear you are having probs….

RE: spanish FB button being wider, the main dev on this plugin is out at the moment…but i’ll send him a note on what may be able to be done, from what I can tell the iframe element is inheriting the width from whatever is returned from FB, but that is just a cursory look at the outputed markup, not sure if that is truly the case…once i hear back from Kynatro ill give you a heads up.

Thanks! From what I’ve seen in other plugins, you have to take into account the language when calling the Facebook iframe and specify the correct width. I’m sure it’ll be easy to fix.

    By trial and error:

In models>button.php, line 32: changing the width from 50px to 75px gets it perfect in Spanish.

Shame you couldn’t fix this in the new version 🙁

Twitter has a similar issue as well. And my fix doesn’t work anymore…
