• How do I go about creating an additional English version of my site (in Polish), if the original site is set up and running for over 3 years?

I do not want to loose my links and SEO ranking in search engines, just want an English flag on my page, redirecting to identical structure & content but in a different language…

Note, my links within site are custom (category names)…
I am a beginner in WP and have learned / discovered everything I know by myself, so far. Never been taught anything but anyone who knows about WP.
    Please help:)

If you do it via Multisite, just activate Multisite on your site. It will let you make en.site.com and off you go.

There are other plugins, though, like qtranslate.

I have something in my WP Tools which probably is multi-site (in Polish it is called “Creating a network”?) but when I try to start it (after disabling all my plugins), it informs me that since I have an existing site running “the network” will loose all my existing links/structure… 🙁

This is not what I want, I want additional new structure (identical link the existing one), but translated to English and linked (accessible via) to an image of a flag.

Have you any suggestions or do I have to create new separate WP and simply link it to a flag placed somewhere in my original site? 🙁

And maybe someone has a solution to my other problem, posted here:

You … What? It doesn’t say that (I just ran it this morning). Unless you mean you HAD a multisite before and didn’t delete it. Which is possible.

Read http://wpmututorials.com/how-to/how-to-disable-multisite/ to clean up an old install, if you had one, and start over. No, you won’t lose your site.
