Featured Images don't show up!

Hello!

I am very new to WordPress, and I’m in the process of migrating all of my website over to this platform.

One question I can’t seem to answer (just by looking around) is about Featured Images. Every time I write a post, I select a Featured Image which I want to use a thumbnail for that post. (Usually, this is something related to the topic of the post – for example, if the post is about a new album release, the thumbnail might be the cover art of that album.)

However, when I publish that post, the Featured Image doesn’t show up. Ideally, I would like the Featured Images for each post to show on the Homepage, next to the posts in the Feed there, and also in the actual post itself, when you click on the title. At the moment, neither of these things happens; I am starting to question the point of setting a Featured Image at all, when it doesn’t seem to display anywhere.

Can anyone help me with this? I’m sure there is something very simple which I am missing here!!
