• I am able to install a plugin(such as twitter), activate the plugin, deactivate the plugin, and delete the plugin. All with no issues.

The issue comes when I try to reinstall the same plugin. I get an error that says “Could not create directory….”. Now, if I go back about 30 minutes later I am able to go through the install again.

In looking around it seems as if this is an issue with wincache, but I believe I have verified it is the correct version and still have the issue.

Is there something else simple I am missing?

  • Hi pb780,

Do you still have wincache activated? If so, can you clear the cache? Then you try deactivating it and seeing if that makes a difference!

Deactivate wincache when updating site (this may require moving or deleting the added file(s))

I deactivated wincache, and the issue goes away.

Do I actually need to have wincache activated? If I leave it deactivated would this be an issue in the future?

I would do as I noted above. It’s a quick step and can save much more time later if an issue arises.
