• Hello, I’ve searched the plugin codex, the forums, and everywhere else I could think of searching, and I can’t seem to find this ability. I suspect it’s something easy that I missed!

I would like my admin to receive an email notification when a new post is made on the site, whether it is published, draft or private. A bit like there’s a notification when a new comment is made.

Main reason for that is that we have authors that aren’t allowed to publish their own posts, and we want to make sure that admins are notified so posts don’t site forever unseen and unnatended.

Thanks for any idea you might have on this.

  • Unfortunately, you didn’t miss it… It just doesn’t exist. I was looking for this for months 🙁

For a while I was flirting with the idea to install the Subscribe2 plugin and make the owner the sole subscriber – so he gets notified when something is posted. If I remember well there are things that should be modified in the plugin – it sends notification only for “publish”, not drafts.

Hmmm. Maybe this is where I start looking at making my own plugin. It can’t be *that* difficult to modify the comment notification script somehow?

Or perhaps it is, who knows? 🙂

Thanks for the prompt answer Moshu

Sweet. I hadn’t been back here in a while, and without email notification on responses to your own thread, I hadn’t realised it was here. I love this. Thanks for pointing me to it 🙂
