• My hosting provider is having problems, which means when you go to the site the following message appears:

    “Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.”

Is there a way to have wordpress present another message than this one, one more custom made to my site?

  • Yes, modify the file “wp-includes/wp-db.php” to say whatever you want. Just keep in mind that you’ll have to keep doing that every time you upgrade.
