Try to use css multicolumn property.
Check example on jsfiddle.
I recommend you to put css-styles for columns to main style.css file of the theme, because if you will update the Page-list plugin – your changes will be lost.

Thanks I just tweeked it a little and now its fine.
I tried with css multicolumn but working only in Firefox and safari. Any other idea?
CSS multicolumn works in all popular browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Opera.
Other browsers, which does not supports CSS3 will show everything in one column. If user uses old or poor browser than user will not see fancy features. IMHO it is pretty fair.
Vitalik, when do you make column function inside plugin? I don’t understand CSS switch(((
