The free version of WPtouch does not offer iPad support. Your desktop theme will be the active theme on iPad.
Actually it does. When you add “iPad” to the custom user-agents field it displays in the WP Touch theme. At least it does on my site and iPad.
Hi Erik,
Support for other devices can be added. What we meant is that WPtouch Pro includes an iPad-specific theme which can be customized independently from the mobile theme.
hi all. Yes it is true: when you enter iPad into the custom user-agents field it displays correctly on the iPad. The problem is that the mobile version also displays on my mac! How can I enable that? I want the desktop versione on my mac. Thank you
The problem is that the mobile version also displays on my mac!
This sounds like a caching issue rather than a device detection issue (unless you have added the user agent for your desktop browser to WPtouch’s custom user agent area). You may configure your caching plugin not to cache mobile pages nor to serve cached pages when mobile devices are detected. To do so, enter the user agents found under Advanced Options > Custom User-Agents to the “rejected user agents” areas in your caching plugin’s settings. Remember to clear your plugin, browser, and device caches before retesting.
Hi Brave, do you mean I should add ipad again?
The problem is that the mobile version also displays on my mac!
We mean for you to clear all your caches, including your device cache, then to follow the instructions for disabling your caching plugin or online service when mobile devices are encountered.
Caching plugins and services tend to overwrite your desktop theme with posts and pages stored using your mobile theme (and vice-versa). Until caching plugins can recognize the theme being used, you may disable them from activating when mobile devices are detected. This will allow you to see your mobile theme on mobile devices and your desktop theme on desktop browsers as expected.
I have total cache, where should I do that?
Hi,
Please add the list of user agents below in the “Page Cache”, “Minify” and “CDN” settings of W3TC. Then, clear all caches.

In the W3 Total Cache settings under “Rejected User Agents” in “Page Cache”, “Minify” and “CDN”.
