• So I see that I can list multiple IP’s to be used for mapping via an A record.

My setup is such that I have a bunch of my personal sites, but also use multisite to be open to others in my unique niche.

I’m thinking it would be nice to use a few IP’s just to prevent network blacklisting possibilities.

I’m hosting on knownhost and already have mapping setup with a dedicated IP. I got another IP, added it in the mapping plugin and changed one of my sites A records to reflect the new IP, but even after giving it time to propagate, it’s still not resolving.

Am I misunderstanding how the multiple IP option works or am I just missing a step somewhere?

Your server needs to be configured to send the requests to your WP install. An example where someone would use multiple IPs is if they have multiple web servers for the same network.

If I have a VPS with Parallels Power Panel/WHM/Cpanel, is this something I should be able to do on my own? My provider made it sound like it wasn’t possible to make multiple IP’s point to the same domain on my account.

    Thanks for your help.

It’s not something you can do through cPanel. You would need to do some manual configuring using SSH. What you would do depends on how your host has cPanel configured as far as updating the server config on cPanel changes.

You’ll have to see if your host has any support info.
