Hey guys, I want to build out a basic brochure-ware site and I'm curious to know what you guys think is the easiest theme to use to build upon for 2 column site. I'm not using this as a blog software but just basic brochure ware.
Thoughts and opinions?
im not sure what a brochure ware site looks like...
as for building on a theme... you might want to post an idea of the layout you want and compare it to what kind of site you want to make
2 columns could be anything.. so that doesnt really say much
give some examples of what you want the layout to look like since 2 columns could have different columns anywhere

Well, let me clarify something here.
I don't want to use a theme has the same look and feel for what I envision.
i'm looking for themes that are easy on the amount of php code within the templates. make sense?
I know that there are some themes whereby the templates have tons and tons of code and it's hard for me to make sense of it. I wanted to find a theme that is light on this code and makes it easier for me to build on it and more importantly, start to grasp WP template files.

hi there
i have recently used the default theme (kubrick) to make a small non blog site but modified it a fair bit so it doesn't look very kubrick-ey
one problem with this theme was that it used images for it's backgrounds and questions i posted to this forum elicited some "don't ask me about altering kubrick" kind of replies
as for lots of php code, that's not really an issue, you won't be altering it just not using it
so ... check a few themes before starting work, because the deeper you get into it the more reluctant you'll be to start over
good luck!
You could try my approach which is unfinished, see this post http://wordpress.org/support/topic/86945?replies=4
