For my company website, I am not wanting to include a page that displays all posts in chronological order. Is it possible to eliminate the default settings? My Home page is currently set as the static page, but in doing that, WordPress forces me to direct the latest posts elsewhere.

This is the page I am trying to eliminate:

    Please help if you can!

  • From wp-admin->Settings->Reading, set your static front page to whatever you want. Leave the static Posts page blank. After that, there is no ‘blog index’ page and the only way to get to a post is if you explicitly link to it from elsewhere.

I don’t understand what you mean by “WordPress forces me to direct the latest posts elsewhere”. I just tested on relatively new 3.4.1 install, and it doesn’t appear to work that way. What am I missing?

Yes. Follow s_ha_dum’s instructions. You must set the “blog” page as your static Posts page. Just leave it blank.

Wow, I didn’t realize it was that simple. I didn’t think you could leave the static Posts page blank. Thank you very much!
