   Everytime i use the <!--more--> tag my page always does that, I just did a fresh installation of WP and its still doing it. Any ideas?

   The tag seems to be working the way it is designed to work in the default installation of WordPress. There are a variety of ways to modify the "more" tag. I have a plugin that does just that at http://www.benched42.net/blog/my-wordpress-modifications/ ; it's a modification of scriptygoddess's Content Show/Hide plugin.
