  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Hi,

No i haven’t tried that. But my site is currently live. Deactivating the plugins will slow down my production and also i cant switch the theme. But i removed all the inactive plugins.

Are you sure its because of the plugins?

Alternatively you can make a backup of your website, install it on your local computer to test what Esmi suggested. Like this you won’t interrupt the live site.

Hey that’s a good idea. Thanks. Ill start doing it. Thanks to you both.

    Hi,
I know how to check in to my website as admin by going to http://www.mysite.com/wp-admin. But I have no clue how to get in as an editor.

Because I am so NON-TECH and it took me FOREVER to just design my website, I thought it would be a good idea for me to also set myself up as an editor so that I can’t accidentally mess up the display on my site while adding information to my site.

I’m sure this must be something simple that most people know, but I sure don’t! Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for any help you may offer.

I just figured it out. Sorry! I thought since I had to use ADMIN+password to get into the admin portion that I had to use EDITOR+password to get into the editor portion. I see now that I need to use the name I assigned instead of the word EDITOR.

    Thanks anyway! 🙂

Deactivating the plugins will slow down my production and also i cant switch the theme.

Bottom line – do you want to get to the bottom of what is wrong with your site? Well this is the first step in troubleshooting. – a process of elimination deliberately designed to locate the root cause as quickly as possible by first removing the most obvious and common culprits. There is no magic bullet.

These changes are temporary but without them we cannot help you.
